NEW FOR 2009 VA Fashion Week Announces Partnerships! For 2009 VA Fashion Week is proud to partner with the Food Bank of Southeastern VA and the Virginia Beach SPCA. A percentage of sponsor fees will be donated to these organizations and they will be prominently featured in our events. Our Friday night show finale will be the debut of Johnathan Kayne's Kayne-9 line which will feature pets available for adoption from the SPCA. We will be collecting food donations for the food bank at all events. Celebrity Designers Already On Board! * Johnathan Kayne from Project Runway will return with his 2010 Wow! Prom & Pageant Line along with the debut of his Kayne-9 line! * Indashio, winner of VH-1's Glam Gods will be a special guest as well showing his Spring 2010 line! * Karen Domino White, daughter of rock/R&B legend Fats Domino will showcase her Spring 2010 line in a fresh new runway presentation! Year-round Events Produced by and Promoting VA Fashion Week * Saturday March 14, 2009 6:30pm Contemporary Art Center of VA: Pandora's Hope Fashion Show to benefit the Tidewater AIDS Community Taskforce, this event was conceived by teen model Courtney Cannan. Top designers will be showing their lines as well as donating items too be auctioned for TAFT. After the fashion show, invited guests will party to celebrate Courtney's Sweet 16! * More events will be announced every month leading up to VA Fashion Week 2009! Schedule of Events VA Fashion Week 2009 * Sunday October 25, 2009 @ Foodbank 800 Tidewater Drive Norfolk, VA The official launch of VA Fashion Week with a private party for media, sponsors, invited guests, and VIPs will feature a cocktail party, a tour of the Foodbank and a special preview fashion show held in the wearhouses! * Saturday-Thursday October 24-29: VA Fashion Week will present a series of shows in various cities featuring prominent boutiques and designers. Some will be evening shows in the 7-9 time frame, others luncheon shows or business After Hours events. * Wednesday Evening 6-9pm Guadalajara Virginia Beach Town Center: Hairstylist competition followed by after party * Friday Evening October 30 6-9pm Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront: Spring 2010 Designer Showcase opens with a series of designer fashion shows featuring top VA designers. The finale will be the national debut of the Johnathan Kayne Kayne-9 Collection featuring pets from the SPCA available for adoption! There will be opportunities for guests to browse exhibitor booths, as well as cocktails available. * Saturday October 31 12noon-6pm Sheraton Virginia Beach Oceanfront: Student designer competition begins at noon. Designer Showcase continues spotlighting couture and ready-to-wear designers from VA, the US and abroad. Shows will feature an entire spectrum of fashions for both women and men. Highlights will include celebrity designer finale. There will be several intermissions between shows where guests can to enjoy food/beverage offerings and visit exhibitors. * Saturday 9:00pm-?: Special Halloween after party for models, designers, producers, sponsors, press, VIPs and guests will be a costume ball! Come as a ghoulish goth, a colorful character, or a fabulous fashionista! VA Fashion Week Continues Efforts to be a GREEN Event! * Recycling Receptacles will be available throughout the event so all paper products, cans and bottles can be properly recycled. * Tips for a Green lifestyle will be offered in the program and during the event. * Recycled and/or environmentally friendly paper goods will be used in making the program and printed materials.
